The idea for the Ram statue was mooted in 2017 but is now taking shape.
The construction of the Ram statue will commence soon.

Ram statue to be taller than Patel, Shivaji statues

As per earlier plans, Ayodhya’s Ram statue was to stand 100m tall, making it taller than New York’s Statue of Liberty (93m). Now, the Ram statue in Ayodhya is likely to be 235m in height, making it the tallest in the world. It will also stand a wee bit taller than the proposed Shivaji statue off Mumbai, whose height has been revised yet again to 212m.

Some designs of the proposed Lord Ram statue in Ayodhya make it look like the Colossus—that giant statue of the Greek god Helios that stood at the mouth of the island of Rhodes. It was built in 280 BC, and at 33m, was the tallest statue of its time, and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
