Anubhav Kumar – Humans of Ayodhya

My name is Anubhav Kumar and I was born in the Nagri of Lord Rama, the city of faith, Ayodhya. I am currently 21 years old. Unfortunately, my mother passed away when I was only seven years old.I have three siblings which make us four in total. My father Mr. Jagdeesh Prasad Kashyap is a government employee. Even Though our childhood was filled with hardships, my father made sure we are raised with good manners and etiquette. I was a very notorious child and loved roaming around and jumping here and there since I was a kid. When I was in sixth grade I was doing something notorious and my elder brother caught me and said that he will make sure that I get scoldings from my father.I got afraid of him and ran away from school. As I was in my school uniform, I was caught by a man in Pratapgarh and was enquired about my family which led me to return home. My father scolded me a lot that day. As I was very enthusiastic and very keen, I always wanted to do something different since childhood. After passing my class 12th examination, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to become a fighter who will represent India. Post that, I joined a karate class in 2017 named AV KARATE CLUB. I trained very hard for 3 months without letting my family know about this extracurricular activity. My coach Sujit Pandey asked me if I would like to participate in a national championship that was happening in Coimbatore. It was the time when my father got to know about this interest of mine and was very angry because anything apart from studies is considered a waste of time,. I did not lose hope and still went.

Unfortunately, I lost the competition as there was a participant who was a black belt and I was not so prepared. The second championship that I went for was State level but I lost again.

 I decided not to give up. My first international championship was in Nepal where I got the third position. I started winning from here and decided not to look back at my failures again. After that, I went for the international championship in West Bengal. India, Nepal, Japan, Bangladesh, and Korea were a part of the championship. I was the gold medallist in the championship.

I won various other championships organised by various other countries.

I wonder sometimes that if I had given up at the time of my failures, I wouldn’t have been here achieving the best I can. I knew I wanted to do something for my family, for my mother, and especially for my country, India that brought me where I am today and will continue to give the best of my efforts for the country that gave me everything.

I definitely learnt it the hard way that success only comes after failure.
